Morgan + Anthony’s unforgettable fall backyard wedding was filled to the brim with sweet little touches of their love story. They got married at Morgan’s family home in Ridgefield, Washington, and the entire day was such a beautiful reflection of the bond between them. It was emotional, a little wild, and just fulllll of beautiful moments!
What could possibly be more meaningful than tying the knot at the family home you grew up in—especially when that home also happens to be gorgeous, spacious, and perfect for a wedding?
Morgan and Anthony’s wedding day took place at Morgan’s childhood home in Ridgefield, WA, a small city in northwest Clark County. This area is well known for its beautiful mountain views in the distance and its location by both the Columbia River and the Lewis River; a.k.a. near plenty of gorgeous wilderness. So it was no surprise that Morgan’s family home was absolutely stunning, with plenty of wide-open farmland and a serene atmosphere for a romantic celebration. This is your sign to have a backyard wedding at you or your partner’s childhood home, as long as your guests can all fit!
One of my favorite parts of Morgan and Anthony’s day was that all of their details and decor were made possible with the help of their family and friends. Everyone came together to set everything up for the soon-to-be newlyweds, from putting up the canopy tents, to prepping the gaden and lawn, to setting up all of the decor. How special to not only have your loved ones by your side on your big day, but to also have their touch on everything that made your celebration possible!
I simply can’t mention the details and decor without taking a minute to appreciate the stunning modern country theme Morgan and Anthony decided on, with intentional fall-inspired touches—because wow did every one of their details absolutely shine. I started the day by photographing small but significant pieces such as Morgan’s jewelry, garter, their stationary, and my personal favorite: the adorable, personalized wooden booklet with their names, wedding date, and a song lyric from Morgan Wallen, all written in a western-style font. How creative is that?!
And let me tell you, the reception details were to die for. They went full throttle with the dreamy colors of fall, featuring bouquets full of rich yellows & vibrant oranges, and table decor to match. You can truly never go wrong with rich jewel tones such as rust orange, mustard yellow, and evergreen, and Morgan + Anthony must have known that because they infused every vase, glass, candle, and even every pillow with those dreamy colors! This fall color palette was a dream paired with the rustic atmosphere and the dry farm land, especially with lighter touches (such as the bunches of delicate baby’s breath) to contrast the deep, warm autumn vibes.
First looks never fail to make me tear up, and this day was no different. Watching not one, not two, but three first looks was enough to make everyone emotional before the ceremony even started; first with Morgan and her dad seeing each other for the first time. She looked like an absolute angel in her floral applique-covered gown and her whimsical lace sleeves + matching veil, especially next to Anthony in his dapper white suit. Are these two models or what?
Let’s talk about Morgan and her bridesmaids for a moment, too, because these gals brought all the fall wedding party inspiration straight from Pinterest. Morgan had all of them dress in black gowns of their choice, which created such a stunning contrast against her vibrant white bridal look. With Anthony in white and his groomsmen also dressed to the nines in classic tuxedos, this black & white group looked killer in every. Single. Photo.
After three emotional first looks with Morgan’s dad, Anthony, and her bridesmaids, it was time for their ceremony. They said their vows, shed tears, and exchanged rings in front of a minimalist modern arch, decorated in flower arrangements bursting with vibrant fall colors and gorgeous greenery. With the bright blue skies and the sun shining down on them, Morgan and Anthony finally became husband and wife, and you could tell that every guest was so overjoyed to be in the audience.
The new bride and groom hosted the best reception for all of their guests, celebrating underneath a canopy lit up with sparkling bistro lights, as well as a large checkered dance floor on the grass. Everyone enjoyed mouthwatering BBQ for dinner, sipped on fiery shots of Fireball, and dance the night away to their favorite country songs—it was so easy to see throughout this entire evening just how loved both Morgan and Anthony are by their friends and family. The night was filled with nothing but love, support, and celebration, which is exactly what these two deserved!
Morgan and Anthony ended the night with a send off in one of Morgan’s dad’s vintage cars, because who wants a boring goodbye? I was obsessed with the firetruck red car they chose, and it was so much fun to watch their guests wave goodbye after the grand celebration they’d put on for everyone. What an incredible day from beginning to end; truly the most amazing couple to work with.
I had to include the sweet review these two left me after their wedding; words like these from my couples will always mean more to me than they know.
“We adore Marisa and could not recommend her enough for your big day!
We felt so comfortable during both our engagement shoot and wedding with her. She will match you and your partners energy perfectly and will make the whole process seamless.
She is someone who goes above and beyond for you to make sure you get everything you want out of your photos and we couldn’t have chose a better person to capture the love and craziness on our wedding day💗”
