Amanda and Connor’s Trout Lake Hall wedding was full of western details, heartfelt vows, and love as deep as the canyons. I’ll never get over how beautifully this day came together for them, and how grateful I am to have been there for it all! If you’re a fan of everything boho and country—but make it luxury—then you’re going to adore this wedding just as much as I did (and still do).
“You’re required to get married at a traditional wedding venue”. . .said no one ever. I don’t make the rules in the wedding industry and luckily, nobody else does either—you make your own! Amanda and Connor chose to get married somewhere a little non-traditional: a local music venue they both loved in their hometown, called Trout Lake Hall. This hall is actually a really cool historical building that was established way back in 1904, so it was filled with lots of older touches and beautiful architecture. It’s the perfect combination of a dance hall, a roadhouse, and a music venue; all of which made for the dream wedding venue for these two lovebirds. I looove a good wedding venue that creates its own one-of-a-kind vibe and atmosphere, and Trout Lake Hall did just that for Amanda and Connor’s wedding.
I swear Amanda and Connor’s decor was straight off a Pinterest board, but they also managed to keep the atmosphere very easygoing, laid-back, and grounded. It can be so easy to put your focus on the decor + aesthetics of your day, and then you end up stressing over the tiniest imperfections + details—but these two totally avoided that. Instead of just copying and pasting a day they’d seen in Brides magazine or in an Instagram post, they created a unique vibe that feltright to them: think boho with a touch of glam. It was this really seamless blend of elevated & rustic; a wedding with the chill vibes of country living, combined with the luxury vibes that Amanda and Connor also loved. I mean, champagne towers and cowboy hats? The next power duo for sure.
From the vintage details of the venue to the boho touches placed throughout every part of the day, it was easy to tell that every little thing was intentional. Some of my personal favorites included the layered rugs, the bull skull atop the ceremony arch, the handmade mirror welcome signs that were from Amanda’s home, and the pampas grass everywhere you looked!
Amanda and Connor also did a killer job choosing outfits for their luxury western day. Amanda picked out the dreamiest boho dress, covered in delicate floral appliques and ending in a flowy tulle train with champagne undertones. The way this strapless dress with its sweetheart neckline showed off her tattoos was fire, especially with the elegant veil draping down her back. Even her jewelry matched the boho theme, featuring gorgeous turquoise jewels and lots of sparkling silver! Connor picked a classic black suit paired with a very country-themed bolo tie—I was obsessed with this unique touch in place of a traditional tie or bowtie! That plus his cowboy hat brought out alllll the country feels with this stylish couple.
If you’re as obsessed with these western vibes as much as I am, you won’t want to miss Morgan and Anthony’s Fall Backyard Wedding in Ridgefield, WA—their beautiful autumn day had lots of modern, western touches that I know you’ll love!
A ceremony under the sun framed by breathtaking views of Mt. Adams, bridal portraits with views for days (yes, I’m talking about the bride and groom—oh, and those mountains behind them), and a country-style reception with their loved ones? What more could a pair of super-in-love newlyweds want! After Amanda and Connor tied the knot, they enjoyed a warm summer evening with their guests listening to a bluegrass band, enjoying a BBQ dinner at picnic tables in front of the venue, and drinking a neverending supply of Coors. This was such a perfect way to wrap up an already unforgettable day, which was so representative of their personalities + relationship through and through. So glad to have been able to document this unique day.
I just know you’ve fallen in love with the spectacular celebration that Amanda and Connor put together at Trout Lake Hall by now. Am I right, or am I right? If you’re feeling drawn to the rustic, country vibes of this space and might look at it for your own Washington wedding, I wanted to give you a little bit more info about the venue below!
Trout Lake Hall is located in Trout Lake, WA (you may have guessed that by this point), at the base of Mt. Adams and just under 2 hours north of Portland. It’s not the typical venue you picture when you think of the Pacific Northwest (among dense rainforests, in secluded areas of the mountains, by an alpine lake, etc.); no, this venue is bursting with country charm and laid-back rural vibes. Even the food they serve matches the country atmosphere—their menu is smoker-based and offers a delicious array of BBQ dishes. Say no more, I am innnn.Trout Lake is also a dream come true for couples who want to celebrate in the beautiful outdoors that Washington has to offer, with opportunities for hiking, skiing, hunting, and fishing right nearby. I love the idea of making a weekend out of it: arrive in Trout Lake with your wedding party on Friday, get married on Saturday, and then spend Sunday out exploring the area + enjoying quality time with your loved ones before they leave! Oh, and did I mention the stunning views of Mt. Adams that you get from Trout Lake Hall?
Mount St. Helens is another one of my favorite spots in the PNW for scenic mountain views; take a look at Jessica and Levi’s Romantic Sunset Engagement at Mount St. Helens to see what I mean!
